Ski Area Catinaccio
Skiing in the garden of roses
Ciampedie
is a panoramic view over the Val di Fassa and over the Dolomites. From
its 2000mt of height, from the Catinaccio chain, also known as Rosengarten,
“the garden of roses” and from its extraordinary Vajolet
Towers it is possible to observe Sassolungo, Sella, Marmolada, Sasso
Vernale, the ridge of Costabella, Buffaure, Monzoni and Vallacia, and
in the distance the Latemar chain of the Pale and of Lagorai. Its name
means, “field of God”.

The Ski-Area has more than 13Km of ski runs; it can be
easily reached from Vigo di Fassa with the cableway and from Pera with
a two-seater chairlift. The area is especially arranged for the whole
family; there is in fact a big Baby Park where the children can be entrusted
to the Ski-School of Vigo, which organises ski courses, and to the Mini
Club Tananai for the fun of the youngest. Amusing and demanding the
ski run Thoeni, that with its 4,5Km from Ciampedie descends to Vigo
di Fassa. For the most demanding skiers there is the “black”
ski run named after Alberto Tomba. The great champion trained in Ciampedie
for years, making happy a great number of fans and skiers.
