Ski Area Marmolada
In Summer in Marmolada
Organising
an excursion on Marmolada is not just a dream for all excursionists;
it is also a much-sought-after destination because it means achieving
an important goal. In fact, the climb up to the Queen of the Dolomites
involves a degree of difficulty that goes beyond simple excursions –
not so much because of the elevation, but due to the technical difficulties
involved. As well as the fixed rope routes, the greatest dangers lie
with the glacier’s ice ridges. Therefore, a great deal of experience,
caution and - if possible - the presence of an Alpine guide are needed.
Moreover, this excursion is not for anyone on their own and must always
be done roped together and using the necessary equipment, such as crampons
and ice picks. However, without going into too much detail, reaching
Punta Penia, or in other words, the summit, does not just make up for
the exertion of the high elevation, the panorama from up there is enough
to repay any sacrifice.
Countless other routes start out from
Marmolada and those looking for more information about all possible
excursions can consult the summer pages about excursions in the Fassa
Valley on our web site www.dolomitinetwork.com.
