Ski Area Marmolada
Skiing to Marmolada
Situated at 2054 m, it is reached after
the village of Penia and Pian Trevisan. The area features an imposing
reservoir, bordered by a dam that blocks the top of the Avisio Valley
to create a lake that is 1.85 km long. The Fedaia Pass, in front of
the Marmolada glacier - Queen of the Dolomites - is very popular in
summer and winter alike. On the southern slope of Marmolada, there is
a famous skiing area, served by a single cable car that is very popular
from the end of February to early May, when it offers views and snowy
conditions that cannot be equalled. This is a real paradise for off-piste
ski enthusiasts and for ascents using seal skins.
