Skibus in Val di Fassa

Val di Fassa - Transport Service For Tourists Winter

The transport service for tourists for the winter season 2007/2008, managed by Tourist Board Val di Fassa for the second year consecutively, will start next Sunday, December 4. Initially, the Skibus Service will be available only in the Upper Val di Fassa, but from December 23 on it will work in all the localities of the Valley till the end of season.

The Skibus Service according to the management decision, will be free for everyone, both tourists and local people and this year for guests of non-associated hotels and flats, too. Tourist Board Val di Fassa primary aim is, in fact, the optimization in the use of means of transport, such as ski busses and lifts, in order to encourage people to use public instead of private transport . The decision of rendering the skibus service free for all was partially determined by the impossibility of checking the ski bus tickets but, principally, to assure a more fluid and better service to the guests

Tourist Board Val di Fassa invested € 806.886,00 in the project, an amount which represents 50% of the total resources derived from the contribution of its associates. The Transport Service for Tourists for the winter season 2007/2008, coordinated by the Transport Manager, Mr. Livio Gabrielli, follows in general last year’s programme whose realization proved to be successful. The Service aims, in fact, at linking at best the towns to their Ski Areas:
Lusia/S.Pellegrino ski areas to Moena and Soraga, Buffaure/Ciampedie ski areas to the Central Valley and Col Rodella/Belvedere/Ciampac ski areas to the Upper Valley.

The link among the different towns and ski areas of the Valley, even if slightly improved in comparison with last year, is to be considered as a second choice option determined and limited by the general financial resources. It must be remembered, as already said above, that the goal of the Skibus Service is to link the towns to their ski areas in order to optimize the use of public transport and lifts.
