The cableway Pozza/Buffaure consists in a system with a six-seater cage with sitting passengers. It starts from the centre of the village in Meida, at 1341 slm and arrives at 2063m after exceeding a drope of 721m. 7 minutes of run with an hourly capacity of 1400 people. The ski run, called Buffaure or ‘Panoramica’-panorama- for the particular beauty of the surrounding Dolomites, is 6Km long, one of the longest ski runs of the whole Val di Fassa. It starts from 2050m and arrives in the village at a height of 1340m. The medium gradient is of 15% with long stretches of 30%, features that make it suitable to the great majority of skiers: all the ski runs are provided with an artificial snow equipment. The four-seater chairlift Col de Valvacin has a travelling platform at the departure of the cableway. It is 1045m long and covers a drope of 313m; actually it starts from a height of 2041m and reaches an arrival height of 2354m, with hourly capacity of 1800 people. The ski run is 1800m long and has a medium gradient of 20% and a maximum of 44%, and for this reason it can be classified as a ski run of medium difficulty. At the school-field you can find three ski-lifts for beginners. The old ski-lift has been replaced by a new chairlift, which will be 530m long, will have a drop of 185 and will link the skiers to the new ski run of medium difficulty, which will be 1200m long.

SPECIAL SKI STADIUM ALOCH

Nel gennaio 2000 è stato ufficialmente aperto il nuovo Ski Stadium Val di Fassa. La Società Funivie Buffaure, dopo la realizzazione nel 1996 della cabinovia Pozza-Buffaure per un rilancio turistico invernale di Pozza di Fassa e più in generale del Centro Fassa, ideò la realizzazione di un centro agonistico all'avanguardia. Dopo un primo sopralluogo con i tecnici di settore, allenatori locali e progettisti si riscontrò la possibilità concreta della realizzazione di una pista con forti caratteristiche per la pratica agonistica. La pista esistente è stata letteralmente modificata, con lo spostamento di oltre 25.000 mc di terra; è stato completamente rinnovato l'impianto di innevamento artificiale con la realizzazione della modernissima sala pompe e garage per i mezzi battipista. Il tutto è stato completato con l'installazione di un nuovo impianto di illuminazione con il posizionamento di 25 pali illuminanti con potenza attualmente di 240 lux, predisposto per un potenziamento fino a 700 lux per permettere le riprese televisive di gare in notturna. Vediamo le caratteristiche tecniche della pista agonistica. La lunghezza è di circa 1200 m con partenza da quota 1630 s.l.m. e arrivo a quota 1322 s.l.m. per un dislivello totale di m 308, con larghezza media di 80 metri. La pendenza media è del 27 % con massima fino al 49 %.Con questi dislivelli la pista può ospitare gare a livello nazionale ed internazionale, sia di gigante che di speciale fino a permettere gare di Coppa del Mondo femminile sia in gigante che speciale e Coppa del Mondo maschile di speciale. Naturalmente la possibilità di fissare delle partenze a quote diversificate consentirà la disputa di gare per tutte le categorie Fisi, sia in gigante che in speciale. In fase di progettazione e durante i lavori di sbancamento ha prestato la sua preziosissima consulenza l'omologatore nominato dalla FIS il sign. Martin Wieser di Bolzano. A lavori ultimati ha rilasciato le omologazioni sia per le gare nazionali che internazionali.

Buffaure in Sommer

It is possible to reach the hiking area on Catinaccio from Pera - during the summer season - using the same chairlift or by means of the handy shuttle bus service between Pera and Gardeccia. Less difficult but equally charming are the hikes in the romantic Val S. Nicolò, which you can reach by car, to be left in the large car park where all of the hikes and walks begin.
